Lung Health News, Spring / Summer 2004
The American Lung Association of California is building a network of health organizations in California interested in air pollution issues and related advocacy efforts. The Health Network for Clean Air is being underwritten by a grant from The Energy Foundation.
The association launched the project with a Symposium on the Health Effects of Air Pollution last October. In February, the Network held its second meeting in Fresno to highlight the serious air pollution problems in the Central Valley.
More than 80 representatives participate in the Network from a wide range of organizations, including the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, California Medical Association, California School Nurses Organization, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and Kaiser Permanente.
